Flight delayed? Check your credit card’s trip-delay benefits.
A disrupted flight can leave you wondering whether your card may help with additional expenses. BenefitMyTrip helps you check your exact card, identify missing information and prepare an evidence checklist. A delay alone does not establish coverage.
Start with the airline and your benefit guide
- Ask the airline for assistance. Find out what rebooking, meals or lodging it can provide. Keep records of assistance offered or paid.
- Match your exact card. Check the issuer, product, network and consumer or business variant. Read the guide that applies to your account and trip date.
- Check payment, timing and cause. Review how the fare was paid, the length of the delay, any overnight requirement and the airline’s documented reason. Requirements vary by guide.
- Confirm who is covered. Review family, companion, dependent-child and trip qualifications rather than assuming everyone traveling together qualifies.
- Keep your evidence. Save the itinerary, payment records, written carrier statement, expense receipts and records of other reimbursements. Check the guide’s notice and document deadlines.
Common questions
Does a six-hour delay always qualify?
No. Your applicable guide determines the timing threshold and other conditions. BenefitMyTrip’s assessment explains which reported conditions match and which still need confirmation.
What if my flight was cancelled?
Our checker evaluates trip-delay expenses, including when a cancellation causes a delay. It does not assess trip-cancellation coverage, replacement airfare or unused prepaid bookings.
Do I need to enter a card number or upload receipts?
No. Select the card product and enter the trip facts you know. Keep receipts yourself; BenefitMyTrip does not collect customer receipt files or submit claims.
Is an assessment a reimbursement approval?
No. It is preliminary guidance based on your entries and reviewed rules. The benefit administrator decides eligibility and reimbursement under your applicable terms. Missing or unsupported rules are flagged for review.
